i would finish a workunit with buzzer settings -> off. at least with the next new WU, im sure it will go off ;) there is no need to unplug or such things. I connected two detector on two different machines and it works.

The 'hardware' prefs are updated when workunit starts or is restarted (does not matter) but you have to contact the server after updating the preferences. So the safest way is to update prefs then abort the current workunit, the settings will be downloaded with the new work.

It is easy to discover. Plug sensor to a computer and try to push the button. The buzzer will stop beeping.
