Hi,

I use the Meteohub System (http://wiki.meteohub.de/Main_Page) in connection with my weatherstation.
It is a small Linux Box with an application which can create graphs an other stuff for homepages.
The application already support many hardware, not only wheaterstations.
It would be very nice for the future to use your sensor on this meteohub.

The developer Boris is a taff guy and you should connect him to ask for implementation your driver.

So if it´s possible, I think, much more user with meteohub will order your radioactive sensor and incease your network.

To run an extra PC 24h with your application it is not a solution for me and with the meteohub you get more flexibel.....and save power and resources.

Maybe if you need a test candidate in the future, feel free to contact me !

Greetings, Robby

Another idea would be to develop an Arduino app that would allow the detector to be running 24/7 with minimal power consumption. It would also allow users to learn about how to use an Arduino and they might come up with ideas to use them in other projects.

There is a low power solution in the wild: Raspberry Pi.

OK,
in fact there are several GM tube equipped Arduino projects. We also though about using Arduino Mega + GM board + some basic sensors for temperature and humidity (cost few USD) and ethernet shield to make the station standalone. It is not problem to publicly broadcast the data however this would probably need changes in Radioactive@home database - maybe to write a new connection because such devices would be outside the BOINC network.

Already talked with the devs here and it is not problem to implement radioactive@home data in other network - maybe easier solution as the project devs seem to be quite busy.

As I understand you are looking for off-line use of Radioactive@Home sensor?
Client app works standalone as well and saves readings in text file in app folder. So is no obstacle to use it in other devices as long as system is based on standard Linux core.

Also, sources are available and (by removing BOINC related parts of code) quite simply to recompile on platforms without BOINC.
