The collection for Radioactive@home detectors

As we announced earlier, we start second pre-sale of Radioactive@Home detectors.
This time however the detector will be in enclosure, but it is still a "kit" so it will require assembly. The detector will be sent as a PCB wit case and Geiger tube. You will have to buy USB A->B cable (such as for a printer). The date of shipment - January 2012

Attention:

All that contacted us regarding group sale are requested not to order the detectors through main site.

Group orders will be realised by contacting through PM on the project forum!!!

Message 710 - Posted: 20 Jan 2012 | 23:28:23 UTC - in response to Message 552.

As is just after half on January and few of you ask me on PM, when detectors arrive... short rapport.

1. Most parts are already on Kotfryc house (Kotfryc assembly PCB elements this time), we still wait for:
a) trafo's
b) boxes

I have sent today some more parts (arrived to me on Wednesday) by Royal Mail, I don't know how long parcel will be on its way, but I hope it arrived Kotfryc before end of next week.

I have 240 Attiny's to program (10 already done), this will take about a week (as I have other tasks). As soon as PCB's be ready I will send it, I let you know when it's happens.

As we told you before, we will start deliveries before end of this month, I hope we not be late...

I only want to say - please be patient... Everyone who paid would get his detector.
We had a little misunderstanding with one of our subcontractor and that's why we have delay. Some part of the detectors are mounted and under testing. One (HOT) picture:

This empty space there on the right, is it for a battery (-pack)?
If so, will this batch already work in stand-alone modus?

Yes, detector V2.5 can work on 3 AAA batteries but an additional module is needed:

Module is housed between display and the housing. It's plugged into the programmer connector.

coffee to brew when it?
Instead of useless options would be better to add something useful. Geiger placed in such a beautiful box suitable except for furniture. He was not able to respond to rain from Fukushima, or radioactive dust.Surrounded by walls of your home, it will show the radiation only when you bring home on their shoes and clothes. The idea that was just wonderful turns into an ordinary useless gadget.
If on the topic: The sensor must be located outside of your home. LCD is naturally inside your home and be seen. Audible alarm shall activate the threshold 30mkR / h (0.3mkZ / h).
Personalities are afraid that they will kill the 400v supply Geiger - deeply mistaken - there simply is no such AC power. But on the computer chassis that is not grounded there is half the supply voltage (55V to 110V network). (110V to 220V), which is really dangerous. Since the sensor is connected via usb and it is this voltage is present. So, ground your computer.
In the normal sensor must be able to extend the wires - computer does not always standing near the window to make the sensor. Usb bus is not the best for this option. So on this sensor has to work and work - is clearly a defect of the developer. By the way, and do not forget about backup power from the rechargeable battery in case of power on your computer.

.... but an additional module is needed ....

oh.. how do we get this module? Maybe you could add two (for me) to the batch for Saenger?

Unfortunately this isn't possible now.
We hope to include this module in next batch, but this is dependent on time and cost required to fully test everything.
Also we work on using GPS module with extended version of our detector but still haven't working prototype.

Everything is depended on time and money... :/

As it's probably not that difficult to build yourself, methinks, is the circuit diagram available?
