Under vista the device manager keeps searching for a device driver. Have rebooted the computer and checked in Boinc project RadioActive@Home and have not been able to find one. Is one needed? If so where can I find it?

I can see about 8 Vista machines with credit (including @Szopler) and I don't recall anyone mentioning a driver before. I'm pretty certain the sensor appears as a generic storage device, so wouldn't need a driver.

Faulty USB port? Using an unpowered hub?

Al.

Vista doesn't need a driver. Try change USB port and eventually simple check on other machine.
Some machines have USB port with non-standard parameters on USB port, it's very rare but possible (especially on laptops/netbooks).

I tried all the usb hubs on the laptop. All of them required a driver.

So switched to another computer running XP3. IT did not require a driver and is now doing trickle ups on the project.
