Yes, this is considered a different version than previous sensors, with more design reviews and considerations than just the package format. |

Intel Galileo as monitoring board for the sensor

Posted 3673 days ago by ShortlegCats Just curious if anyone else is considering using an Intel Galileo board as a stand alone low power Linux host for the sensor? Should be easy to place it anywhere with a mini PCI Express WIFI for connectivity. |

To start off, the best way to find out about potential future orders is to check the news forum periodically (unless admins state otherwise). Currently, there is no "waiting list" for future orders. Generally, a post is made when they are gearing up to take (pre) orders. Right now, to my knowledge, the organizers are awaiting for shipments of some of the remaining parts for the kits, and making sure all is good before shipping them out. |

Their approach to date appears to be keeping the devices as affordable as possible. It is true that they could be mass produced as a more complete unit, but the price would also increase accordingly. |
