--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is not God good? There are occasions when we could get upset with those around us and only turn to 1 who is True and loving. I have had the pleasure of serving as a Senior Pastor and as a Youth Pastor. I've observed slights and cultural Faux Pas on-the part of the others. What I've derived will there be is a feeling from some Senior Pastors that their calling is somehow much better than those of a Youth or Associate Pastor.

We first must understand that God, who is good, could Be The One who calls us into a new life-in His Son The Lord Jesus Christ. Our church in East Longmeadow Massachusetts ( http://www.fbcel.org ) has a maxim that we unofficially put in every effort. 'All to maturity, some for service.'

We are all called to become mature believers in Christ. This thrilling pastor lee mcfarland article has uncountable poetic suggestions for the reason for it. Some, by Gods' (yes I intended to put a comma on the right side of the 's' showing plural possessive) grace are named to be ministers.

As a minister we are a gift to the local church.1 God gave us to the local churches that we serve in. The days that I have been asked, 'How do you know you are called'? I've answered, 'You'll be unhappy if you don't preach or minister. If you are called by God and you don't pursue his calling you will be unhappy till you submit to God and pursue His will to your work-in His vineyard.'

Talking about work, one-day, while attending a Pastor's fellowship (I was a Youth Pastor at the time), a Senior Pastor from another church asked my Senior Pastor for help with creating for lunch. The other Pastor yelled throughout the space, 'Hey Bro. Have. The trend is to get your person and help me with one of these seats.' My Pastor didn't think such a thing about what the person had said. I wanted to scream, Hey Pastor ____. I am God's man, perhaps not this man or any man on the planet. I work with One. This man happens to sign my paycheck and I'm responsible to him... maybe I was only being a touch too delicate at that time.

Until I visited a Pastors fellowship in-a different state, where no body knew me. I approached several men have been laughing and cutting up, as I was a little early and alone. As I approached them, I introduced myself as Pastor Stevens from Springfield, MA. They welcomed me and presented themselves as Senior Pastors and all went around. I answered that probably they misunderstood me, I clarified that I was a Pastor, when they asked me which church I Pastored.

There was a clear quieting of their jesting with me. They each subsequently stopped and avoided speaking with me, even though I interjected on the few items that they made. I was being treated as a 2nd class citizen. Eventually all of them avoided eye contact with me for the rest of my visit. Clicking needs probably provides warnings you could tell your girlfriend.

How about you? Being a Senior Pastor have you ever looked down your nose at someone who was some thing apart from a Senior Pastor? Or being an Associate, you've been treated as a second class citizen? Or are you that Senior Pastor that remembers what it was like to be handled that way when you were an Associate.

Genuinely

Pastor David Stevens
