Your personal background.
Born 17 March 1973 Charlotte, NC, USA. Reside there again after living in Triangle, NC (4 months); Matthews, NC (2.5 years); and Butner, NC (2 years).

I'm 1/4 Hungarian, 1/16 or so Cherokee Indian, probably some German, and definitely English/Irish/Scottish. I can be a constipated limey, a neat-freak/detail-obsessed Kraut, a war-loving bohunk (UFC rocks!) or a loud mick with the best of them (note my b'day). I also hold my liquor well :)

Lest you think I have any political correctness in me at all, my favorite sports teams are the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Braves (and UNC Tarheels). I also like the Kansas City Chiefs to a degree, and the Chicago Blackhawks are ok with me due to their storied history.

I travel, play hearts, spades, and Texas Hold-Em, read, watch the news on TV and read it online, love sports, and collect stamps and coins. Keeping up with politics and religious issues are pursuits of mine, and gastronomy (astronomy, too) is definitely down my alley.

I sell women's and children's finer fashions on eBay under the username ►thetrendywoman◄. Mention you saw me here and get 1/2 off shipping to the USA, 1/4 elsewhere :)
Your opinions about Radioactive@Home
Knowledge of the basic reality of our existence is essential for us to find our true place in the cosmos. Thus, particle research is quite important. Further views of mine:

I have experimented with several DC projects offered by BOINC, seeing which ones produced the most results and were most deserving of my unused flops. I circulate my flops among several such programs, mostly medical-based, while working with POEM and Rainbow Tables...

...as mathematical conundrums are fine to study, but limited in application at present. And that's really what the rest of everything important is. Math is man's quantified exploration and recitation of theory and hypothesis on paper; you need facts to apply to your math, not math to deduce facts. That's putting the cart before the horse, the modern phrase for which being reverse engineering.

I want to help beat cancer, and I will do what I can do here through BOINC as well. Beyond immunological and genetic research, and the basic knowledge of our existence, I am most worried about NEA's and other NEO's. So I'll help out there, too, as best I can. I hope Orbit gets some more WU's :)

If it's radioactive, I'm in. It's seriously fun science...

Incidentally, the pretty lady you see is not I, but one Hayley Westenra. She's a classical crossover singer from Christchurch, NZ, and has perhaps the best voice on the planet today. She is the biggest entertainment act in the history of New Zealand, and worldwide is 4x platinum in total sales. Check her out... but remember, gentlemen, I saw her first... :D
