Message 1161 - Posted: 13 Jun 2012 | 20:20:47 UTC

I have all my hosts pretty much set up on the same profile.

I am noticing that some of them are only getting about half credit for completed units? 1.56 instead of 3 points or so.

They are doing the same work, why is this?

Did you set your location at the map?

If not:
1) http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/hosts_user.php,
2) Go into host and if you done at least 1 WU there should be a map at the bottom,
3) Set your location and click "Add sensor!",
4) Done! You should take full amount of credits from next completed WU ;)

If yes:
1) http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/results.php?hostid=[YOUR_HOSTID]
2) Click on the WU with less credits than expected,
3) Look at stderr info for errors...

The host with half credits has no location set.

To have to open no new Thread I write sometimes here purely.

I have a question to the Credits.
Which is why the everyday Credits although the PC 24 hours sway operates?
Examples:

14.07 = 123
15.07 = 150
16.07 = 174
17.07 - 19.07 = 147

On which basis are the Credits calculated?

Credits are based on runtime, assuming the sensor is connected.
Perhaps your client does not report the tasks immediately on finish, so the sensor has some idle time.

17.07 - 19.07 = 147

Your tasks are all of a consistent run time and credit, so there's nothing obviously wrong. It's just that sometimes you squeeze more tasks into one day than another. I see the same with my Free-DC stats - Some days are better than others, but the average is predictable and consistent.

Just curious as to why your tasks run 3 times longer than mine (they do get 3 times the credit though).

@TJM I fooled around with the 'report tasks immediately' flag and it didn't seem to make much difference with BOINC 6.10.28 - Maybe half a percent increase in RAC :)

Cheers,

Al.

Chertsey you can set the time a task runs in your preferences. I believe they can run as short as about half an hour or as long as a day?

Anyways, yes the points are consistant with run time overall.

That depends on host/client config, as well as task length I think.
On my host #6 (24/7) the client very often does nothing when the task ends, this results with around 950-1000 minutes of data/day.
