We have an idea to offer one detector on Ebay to promote our project, what you think about this?

There are many GM tubes for sale on Ebay so it seems like it is a place visited by people interested in radioactivity. It won't cost much money (maybe even 0 cost) and you'll get good exposure so it sounds like a good idea to me.

Also, set the price high enough so you make 5 Euro profit. Every detector you ship should earn you 5 Euro profit to help pay for the server. The device is still a good bargain at that price.

As another side advantage, even if they do not want to participate in the project, the detector is still a stand alone detector right? Either way you still get some extra cash to help fund the project. As D said, be sure you price it high enough to make up for e bay fees, pay pal fees if you use them, shipping, currency conversion etc.

Not bad idea, but there is a "tons" places where promotion can be done. Mainly - all kind of gamers forum (Fallout, Stalker - etc.) and weather station web-pages. Even more, If there will be chance to create combined software for "our" detector and popular weather stations (as for example widely used WH1080 / WH1081 USB connected)- it will be very handy. Weather stations provide informations about wind direction and power, humidity and temperature. Wind direction is potentially critical.

Hello,

i would like to participate but i can not build a detector by myself. Is there a way to buy the ready build hardware soon?

I could promote this project on my website (network of private weather stations in germany -- 70 stations, about 5000 site vistors a day) and on my private Weather Station Website.

We are currently working on organisation of next batch of detectors (250-300pcs).
Soon we will publish more info (probably before end of this week).
