Due to difficult family situation I have very limited time for an any activity associated to the project.

Project is now managed by BOINC Polska Foundation and I'm only a consultant here.
Please in all matters related to the project contact with "Krzysztof Piszczek - wspieram Polski Projekt Boinc" (User ID = 2).

Hello,

I was checking the top BOINC projects list until I came against this project.
I find it really interesting and just added it to my machine.

I can contribute money, resources and expertise to the project if you need, where can I contact you at?

Thanks.

Hello guys,

I want to contribute to this project because I am going to order a Gamma Scout for personal reasons and for most of time the gauge is in idle status.

Do you think this tool can communicate with this project?

Where can I order a proper detector?

Hi,
This project uses specific kit detectors released periodically by the project organizers, and is not readily compatible with any commercial detector. Several stations do use the commercial GK Electronics GMC-300 or 300E, using separate software written by one of the admins, but the software is not posted on the site and the links in the forum no longer work.
A handheld display detector with an audio jack for the click sounds (e.g. GMC-300E+/320) will work on either of these sites:
http://radmon.org
http://netc.com
and likely any detector with an audio jack (e.g. S.E.I Radiation Alert Inspector and Mazur PRM-8000).

Some manufacturers have their own map sites but the number of live detectors world-wide is more limited:
Safecast.org and the bGeige detector (only the green dots are live)
RadiationNetwork.com - several detector types but costly software
gmcmap.com - seemingly many GK Detectors but old data is not removed
uradmonitor.com - detectors are not meant to be portable hand-held.

Hello, I have my sensor (bought in 2013) for sale.
It has been never used, never connected to the network, so it is new or NOS - new old stock ;)

Is this project still active? Just wondering if I should buy one of these detectors. I'm guessing not, since the map showing nuclear reactors around the world seems to be either outdated or incomplete. Sydney has a reactor at Lucas Heights, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE also has one; neither of which I see on the map.

Hi,
The admins of this project were releasing kits periodically (I have one), but there is no indication that a new kit is in the works. However another website, http://www.radmon.org allows many options for contributing data, including commercial detectors, kits and DIY units. That site also needs Romanian data collectors.

I've watched the project since it's beginning, being mostly at other projects like SETI and others, but never got the chance to get my hands on one of the Radioactive@Home sensors.

Is there a light chance to get the Radac application running with some other Geiger-Müller tube like a Terra-P with bluetooth?

thanks

The project Administrators need to shit or get off the pot and hand over the project to people who actually want to do something with it. Anyone who sees this and would like to join me in taking this project over (if possible), contact me. I have already contacted Krzysztof 'krzyszp' Piszczek, and the former project manager, but all efforts were to the wind, as expected, no response. They have abandoned the project. my belief is that they should at least hand off the project to a group of people who want to see the project succeed, why just abandon a project and let no one else enjoy it because they don't "feel" like doing it anymore...

Where is blue light produced?
And while we're used to hearing scary blue light from digital screens, the biggest source of blue light is actually the sun.In fact, we are exposed to blue light from a variety of sources, including indoor lighting.Dr. Raymond Najjar, a researcher at the Eye Research Institute of Singapore, has been studying the effects of blue light on our eyes.
An experiment he conducted with Channel News Asia showed that different sources produce blue light at different intensities.
Blue light is known to be the number one cause of eye strain.
However, according to Dr. Sunir J. Garg, a spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the saying is not driven by data.
He mentioned that it's understandable that people would accept this -- our eyes do get fidgety and tired after staring at a computer screen for hours.
But blue light isn't the problem here -- it's the amount of time we spend staring at a screen, which can lead to less blinking, which can lead to dry eyes, which can irritate or tire them.
As for the science, all that exists are animal studies (mostly mice) that have the potential to damage the retina when exposed to very high-energy blue light.
However, this result does not translate directly to humans.
The closest study to humans has been to place human retinal cells in a petri dish and shine intense blue light on them.
However, the retina in our eyes is protected differently than these cells in a petri dish.
Therefore, there is currently no evidence in humans that it destroys our retinas or causes macular degeneration.
Still, despite the lack of scientific evidence, Both Dr. Najjar and Dr. Garg acknowledge that some patients have mentioned that their eyes feel less tired when they start using blue-blocking glasses.
So getting a pair might have different effects on different individuals.
According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, blue light does affect the body's circadian rhythm, our natural waking and sleep cycle.
During the day, blue light wakes us up and stimulates us.
It's harder to fall asleep when we're exposed to blue light on screens late at night.
So if you're worried about disrupted sleep at night, you might want to consider purchasing one of these blue blocking glasses.
Otherwise, limiting your phone use before you go to bed may be enough to solve the problem.

How can we eliminate this eye strain?
One easy way to do this, according to experts, is simply to follow the 20-20-20 rule.
This means resting for 20 seconds every 20 minutes and staring at a point 20 feet away (~ 6m).
I think the hardest part for us is getting away from our desks even briefly, hoping that we can get our work done as quickly as possible.
I think the hard part is making it a habit.
Well, NOW I'm ready to make smarter personal financial decisions about buying https://www.jingweioptical.net/cooperation-brand/.

Good news: I discovered this page by chance: https://www.uradmonitor.com/
Looks similar to this project and, in contrast, the map is 'very' active and shows a lot of measuring stations. Unfortunately, the hardware looks quite expensive to me.

So sad, I cannot update my profile because of an stupid captcha query that is not active anymore.

With the development of time, the military folding bed is also used in modern home and leisure life. It is a folding bed that is easy to use and easy to carry. The https://www.naturoutdoors.com/camping-bed-chairs1/military-camouflage-folding-beds.html is a modern folding bed with small size and easy to use. Next, let's take a look at its characteristics and how to buy it.

Military Folding Bed Use
Because the folding bed is easy to use and easy to carry, it can often play an unusual role in outings or field projects. Some people bring tents when they go out to solve sleeping problems, but people can also bring rollaway beds, so that they can use the smallest space to enjoy the most comfortable home experience. If you bring a folding bed to meet different grass, it can adjust the height of the folding bed within a certain range, so that people can feel more comfortable lying on it, and can enjoy the breath of nature, so that the body can be fully relaxed, and the body of the bed can be fully relaxed. Any part of it can be folded, it looks like a large leather case after being folded, and after it is wrapped in a special bag, it can be conveniently placed in any corner, which is a good choice for home travel.

How about the characteristics of the military folding bed
Features 1. Convenience: It can be easily folded for people to rest, and the bed is soft and moderate.
Feature 2. Wide range of use places: It can be used in the field and at home, which is more convenient, and it is very convenient to carry, small in size and generous in size.
Features 3. Various types and colors, you can choose according to your own hobbies.
Feature 4. Durability: General military products are very durable.

How to choose a folding bed?
1. Look at the elasticity: Lie down and turn it left and right a few times. A good spring will not move or be uneven, and can immediately return to its original shape.
2. Look at the stability: You can use both hands to shake the product back and forth, left and right, and shake it, which means that the frame is good.
3. Pay attention to the quality of the wrapping cloth: if you buy leather, you can pinch a place with two fingertips and pull it up. It feels strong and has good recovery properties.
4. Look at the process: If it is a folding bed with a steel frame structure, pay attention to the smoothness of the welds and no gaps, the coating should look uniform and soft, and the surface of the steel pipe treated with [plastic spraying process] has high hardness and is more resistant. Grinding, more glossy. However, if the process of [baking paint] is used, the surface of the steel pipe is more likely to be scratched, which is easy to oxidize and rust, and has no luster.

Considerations when purchasing a folding bed:
1. Whether the folding bed is firm, whether the foot of the bed is thick and will it sway from side to side
2. The workmanship of the folding bed, whether there are rough scratches on the surface
3. Is it convenient to fold the folding bed?

Summary: The above introduces the knowledge of military folding beds and how to buy them. I believe you should have a deeper understanding of military folding beds after reading it. I hope it can be of more help for everyone to buy military folding beds.

uradmonitor is good, requiring that particular hardware. More generic GM tube detectors like those from GQ Electronics or home-made or restored antique units can be used to feed another site, Radmon.org.

Now that there are activities no one expected, we really would need the map to show us radioactivity in eastern europe. It would be fine if "THE MAP" would work again.

Last night we worked on map and use OSM engine instead of Google Maps now.
Not all functionality works now, but we still work on it.

You can now manually add your sensor by taping it position in form fields down to host details page.
Be carefully please and try to use values copied from Google Maps, as now is no verification added to form.

Thank you very much for reviving "the map"
I really missed it. We have so many news today and must decide by our own wheather to believe them or not. But i can find my own sensor on the map and compare the values with my display ...
