I got my detector finally, Yaayyy!!

Quick question, I turn it on, it does it's boot up and starts beeping / ticking a bit and appears to be running. After a minute or two the display blanks out but I can hear it still 'ticking' so assume it's working. Is there any way to make the display stay on all the time?

Thanks
Aaron

Check your settings in preferences in computer details, there is buzzer and display options.

Thank you for the reply. Lets see if when the thing sends in it's first data batch and updates it turns the light on. If not ill turn on and off the box and see if that does it.

re: map updating

Once you return a workunit, you need to manually update your location on the map here on the website.

Here's the instructions that I used to move my location:

Click Your Account -> View Computers -> Details, scroll down to see the map. Your computer will be an icon with a different color (orange? ) than the other computers and the icon will be located in Poland, I think. Drag the icon to your location, zoom in on the map to place the icon on your exact location or somewhere near your location. Then click the Add Sensor button below the map.

There is a shortcut for updating preferences. Suspend the app in BOINC manager, change prefs, go to manager and update project (contact with scheduler is necessary, because the preferences are passed as project_specific_prefs), resume the app. On resume it will re-read the configuration and apply changes.
